Can I talk with you first to see if you’re a good fit?
Absolutely! We offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation before scheduling the first session. This will give you a sense of who we are, what we can offer, and if we are a good fit for your needs.
Do you accept insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider and do not contract with any insurance companies. We can provide a superbill each month that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. If you do not have or intend to use insurance, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care is expected to cost.
How long is each session? What’s the frequency?
The first session is an intake interview, which takes 60 minutes. Therapy sessions are 45 minutes in length. We will discuss the frequency of sessions at your intake visit. Generally, sessions are held once per week.
What is Family-Based Treatment?
Family-Based Treatment is the most effective treatment for children and adolescents with eating disorders. It is the first-line treatment recommended by the American Psychiatric Association for adolescents with anorexia and bulimia. In this treatment, parents take the lead in helping their child recover. Research shows this method is the fastest and safest way to help teens recover. For more information, please click here.
I’m not sure if my child has an eating disorder.
If you are not sure, you have come to the right place. We conduct a diagnostic interview at the first visit to determine if your child meets criteria for a specific diagnosis. If your child does have an eating disorder, we can provide treatment right away. If not, we can still work together to address your concerns and prevent an eating disorder.
Do you treat younger children or adults?
We can provide treatment to children younger than 10 and adults older than 26 on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out for a brief consultation.
